THE ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP

GOAL: To assist current and past unit members, spouses, and children with post high school educational expenses (tuition, books, certificates, etc...). 

SOFUND SCHOLARSHIP:  college/graduate/technical/trade school tuition assistance for children / spouse of KIA / KIT service members = maximum $20,000 a year x 4 (includes study abroad).  DD Form 1300 required or MOH Recipient

PRESCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP:  for children of KIA/KIT service members.  DD Form 1300 required or MOH Recipient

Rick Woolard Scholarship:  memorial scholarship ($15,000) may be used at the discretion of the surviving parents in a way they feel celebrates and commemorates their child’s life.  DD Form 1300 required or MOH Recipient

PHILLIPS EXETER ACADEMY SUMMER SCHOOL:  Exeter, New Hampshire,  5-week summer school (first week of July - first week of August) tuition ($9,000) plus travel stipend for high school sophomore or junior students of KIA/KIT/MOH, current, and veteran unit members.  3.0 GPA required

 

SCOWCROFT SCHOLAR:  tuition assistance ($10,000 a year x 4)  for graduating high school seniors of current and veteran unit members entering college the following fall.  500-word essay, 3.5 GPA required, plus minimum 3.0 GPA the next three years.

DAVID C. MILLER, JR. SCHOLAR:  $5,000 college students of current and veteran unit members to study, work or participate in charitable activity for summer abroad.  Interest should focus on international public service, intelligence community, military, or non-profit international development activities.  250-word essay, 3.2 GPA required, plus passport/visa.

DAVID C. MILLER, JR. FELLOWSHIP: or college graduate to study, work or participate in charitable activity (up to $20,000, limited to 2 years) for students of KIA/KIT/MOH, current, and veteran unit members.  Interest should focus on international public service, intelligence community, military, or non-profit international development activities.  500-word project proposal and 3.2 GPA required, plus passport/visa.

VOTECH SCHOLAR:  up to $3,000 tuition assistance for students of current and veteran unit members attending community college, trade, or technical school.  The purpose is to identify the next generation of workforce leaders.  One page on why specific career field was chosen, 2.5 GPA required. 

 

SPECIAL FAMILY SERVICES: Learning ability testing, for families of KIA/KIT/MOH, current, and veteran unit members who have been unable to secure funding for testing from other sources.
